What confidence means

Every price comes with a confidence label. It tells you how much to lean on the number.

HIGH

Plenty of cars like yours have sold lately, and their prices sit close together. Lean on it.

MEDIUM

Fewer close matches, so the range is wider. A good guide, but look at the cars behind it.

LOW

A rare car, or not many sold lately. Treat it as a rough guide and get a second opinion.

The trade-in range

It is what a dealer would likely pay you for the car, worked out from dealer margins and how long a car like yours takes to resell. It is lower than the market price because the dealer pays to fix, advertise and hold the car. It is a model, not an offer. Condition, service history and repairs are not included. Selling privately can get you closer to the market price.

What “sold” means

A car counts as sold when its ad comes down. The price we show is the last price it was advertised at, not a confirmed sale price. For a private seller, sold means the seller marked it sold.

Why it is free

The market price, the range and the confidence label cost nothing. No catch. Some people buy the full report, with every car behind the number, the trade-in range explained, official specs and a PDF. And dealers pay to use MotorMetrics, the engine underneath.
